The Tuscan Dream is real

and it starts with food for the body and soul. Visit the local village weekend markets, and cook up a delicious meal in our well-equipped kitchen. Eat at the nearby Trattoria (a five minute drive), or the legendary Osteria Le Panzanelle restaurant (a six minute drive). Pick up seasonal Tuscan produce, prosciutto and pesto in Radda at the gourmet grocer “Alimentari Porciati” and make a pasta dinner to enjoy al fresco by sun or candlelight on the balcony or in the garden. Wake up in the morning to the birds singing and on your morning walk/run along the vineyards, be sure to grab a cappuccino made for you by Alessio or Martina at the Trattoria at the bottom of our hill.

Explore

The nearby historic hilltop towns of Radda, Panzano, Castellina and Greve are all within 15 minutes drive from Vignale. Firenze (Florence) is about 45 mins. You can easily drive to Florence and park at the Porta Romana parking lot, and walk to the Ponte Vecchio and the historic Center in 10 minutes. Florence is one of the most spectacular walking cities anywhere in the world and unparalleled for art and history. Siena is within 30 minutes drive. Farther afield, the famous hill towns of San Gimignano, Volterra, Lucca, Pisa, Montepulciano, Arrezo and the Mediterranean sea are all within a few hours drive.

Close by the farmhouse, you can enjoy idyllic vistas and vineyards all around. We are happy to guide you toward some of our favorite trails, shopping and restaurants. We also invite you to explore making art and have provided art materials at Vignale for you to use.

Live La Dolce Vita

Time slows down in Tuscany and the best way to experience it is to slow down with it….Castello Monterinaldi’s wine tasting rooms are at the foot of our driveway and we recommend the wine-paired lunch made by Margarette at our neighbor’s winery, a short 8 minute walk from the house. Within 10 kilometers, there are dozens of top DOCG wineries also delighted to host in the neighboring “Lega del Chianti” towns of Radda, Greve, Panzano, and Castellina in Chianti. Don’t miss the wineries at Fontodi, Volpaia, and Fonterutoli. Arrange a local tour with our friend Sabina, who can also guide you in Firenze for historic tours. Book an Italian cooking class at Vignale with Maria Victoria, who will teach you how to make perfect Tuscan pasta, bruschetta, roasts, and tiramisu. The nearby towns showcase expertly crafted local goods, made of olive wood and linen.
